Joanne’s accomplished and diverse background affords a unique perspective to Axium and its clients. She combines seasoned investigative skills and a journalist’s dogged approach to tracking down the story with a fundamental understanding of a range of business sectors and extensive international experience. During her more than ten years at Axium, Joanne has successfully managed and resolved a wide range of investigations, including corporate internal fraud cases, personal and corporate asset searches, and litigation support matters. Joanne also conducts a broad variety of due diligence investigations for a wide range of investment, commercial, industrial, and financial firms, each with their unique sets of challenges, opportunities, and risks.
Joanne came to Axium from international risk consultancy firm Kroll Inc., where she acted as Director of Research for the Chicago office. There, she conducted a range of high-stakes investigations including those involving frauds, shareholder activism and corporate contests, competitive intelligence, oversight and compliance, internal investigations, and litigation support assignments.
Prior to becoming an investigator, Joanne was a business journalist at Dow Jones Newswires in Washington D.C., monitoring corporate disclosures and violations related to the Securities and Exchange Commission. She also spent three years at CNN Headline News in Atlanta covering the day’s breaking news.
In Bosnia, Joanne co-founded that country’s first English-language publication, serving the diverse international community committed to helping rebuild that country. She served as a volunteer in the Peace Corps in Armenia in the first wave to be deployed to the former Soviet Union after its dissolution.
